Q: What are the characteristics of creek-side plant dyeing and what does the price include?
A: Creek-side plant dyeing is an activity that combines wild fun and handicrafts. We will stroll along the road, collect various forms of wild plants, observe and learn about them. Compared to directly using pre-picked flower materials in a garden, we prefer to use plant dyeing as a way to lead everyone into real nature and feel the wilderness. Additionally, doing handicrafts and drinking tea in an undisturbed creek valley is a very special experience.
Near the village where I live, you leave the village and enter the fields. The villagers are hardworking, growing different vegetables throughout the seasons. The field ridges are neat and tidy, the paths are smooth and solid in the middle, with short wild grass growing on both sides.
Along the way, wildflowers bloom, varying with the seasons. Even now in winter, there are these yellow winter jasmines. Not to mention the countless flowers and plants in spring and summer. Picking these small flowers and ferns we encounter along the way will be the materials for our plant dyeing. In Dali, if you often go up the mountain, you can casually break off some and put them in a pottery vase at home, which will bring much vitality.
After strolling part of this mountain path, you reach the creek. This is a valley, quiet and uninhabited, with the sound of flowing water and reeds swaying in the valley.
We will rest by the creek, have afternoon tea by the babbling brook, and do preparation work before plant dyeing. Then start the plant dyeing. Even just sitting here or taking a walk by the creek is a joyful thing.
