Wangwang | End of Summer Song

After dinner, we talked about when we first accepted this job. Neither Yang Mi nor I felt happy—only a bit of fluster. How interesting. Later, we discovered how great this job is and why it's great takes a long time to explain. The initial fluster has become very precious. More

Waking up, it was already noon. Sunlight through the glass and my eyelids was a bit glaring. I opened my phone and saw a message from Yang Mi: If you're free tonight, come over for dinner. I replied: Okay. Then I closed my eyes again and turned over. Last night, she, Xiao Qi, and I watched an Ecuadorian film using the old projector Jason gave her when he moved. The projected image was yellowish, making us think the heroine's road trip happened in the hot summer. Only after the movie ended and we looked at the original file did we realize it was winter. In the middle of it, I dozed off on the sofa and had the most pleasant dream I've had recently. Just like in the movie, I stood by a desolate roadside, with a village, holding a ham sausage in my hand, at dusk. I felt happy, but Xiao Qi woke me up. Outside, the cicadas were chirping in waves. After I fell asleep again, I didn't return to that place. After dinner, we talked about when we first accepted this job. Neither Yang Mi nor I felt happy—only a bit of fluster. How interesting. Later, we discovered how great this job is and why it's great takes a long time to explain. The initial fluster has become very precious. Xiao Qi praised the fruit wine Yang Mi had brewed and had a few extra glasses. I rode my e-scooter carrying the dizzy him, slowly driving through the pitch-dark village. Woken by sunlight again, I drove to find Shuang Shuang to clean the soil out of the water tank. Zhen Hao called to ask if I'd eaten. The evening breeze was cool, with a hint of autumn. Entering the alley, I heard the sound of drums. I opened the door and went in, seeing He Chen coming out, looking to be in a decent mood. Today's table was a bunch of delicious leftovers that needed to be finished because someone had stood us up. I really like the light of the bulb here—it feels like my childhood home. Everyone habitually gathered together to talk. Recently, we've enjoyed teasing that 'teacher' who lives at the foot of the mountain. A drop in the ocean. These 'teachers' are not easy to get close to. Actually, in today's context, that's probably how it would go. Slowly, the night deepened. In the afternoon, when I entered the house, Xiao Jing was tattooing something on He Chen's calf—a character he didn't recognize, but it looked good. Xiao Qi was lying on the ground. I said the newly arrived hat wasn't great, but Xiao Qi had previously used a sewing machine to stitch a mountain pattern on the hat—a bit rough and casual, but it looked good. While Xiao Jing was cooking, I sat on the rooftop terrace watching the clouds. The temperature gradually turned cool. I suddenly realized that Xiao Jing also cooks very quietly. Yang Mi and Zhen Hao, who had returned from leading a trip, slowly drove their van into the village, stopped at the door. I asked Zhen Hao: Tired? Zhen Hao said: Haha, a bit weird. After dinner, I aimlessly scrolled through our mini-program. I felt it was like an incomplete music album, with many good songs that couldn't be played taken away. Maybe I can try writing a single first. Back home, after showering, Xian Bei lay on my chest, purring. She's been especially clingy lately. The cicadas are gradually quieting down. I want to watch another road movie. For a novice driver like me, continuous winding mountain roads are terrifying. But after crossing the pass from Cangshan to Fengyu, I let out a long breath. Before me was a breathtakingly beautiful picture. Back at Xiao Qi's house, while the vivid memories were still fresh, I quickly finished writing that single.

Jason | Using AI to Create Your Own Mini Program/Website

Two months ago in Chiang Mai, I stumbled upon the chance to start learning how to build mini programs. My AI programming mentor, Wangshen, told me, 'Once you finish your mini program, write a summary report.' Now I've completed the new mini program for Cangshan Hiking Home, and it's already being tested. It not only solves problems I've wanted to address for a while, like adding age tags to filter activities and providing an English version, but it has also introduced new features, such as browsing restaurants, guesthouses, and meeting points on a map for a more intuitive experience, and using AI to provide quite intelligent responses.

Celebrate the Torch Festival in a Nanzhao Royal Clan Village

Over the past two years, we have taken guests to celebrate the Torch Festival in Songhe Village, Eryuan. Together we slaughtered a sheep, and with the whole village, erected a huge torch in the center of the village square. Everyone made their own torches from hemp stalks, and together with the older and younger villagers, we rushed to grab the blessing baba (cakes) from the big torch, passing blessings to each other with fire. Even for me, a native Bai person, these are rare and precious traditional festival experiences. Dali has endless festivals, and I want to experience them more before they fade away. I remember the Torch Festival of my childhood: torches were no longer enough for me. Before the festival, I would tell my dad to prepare a bucket of waste engine oil and diesel, mix them together, and then I would tightly bind cotton and old cloth with rope into a ball (some kids would secretly take cotton from their quilts at home to make it). Finally, I would make an iron wire ball, soak it in the bucket of oil, and secretly take it out every day to look at it, looking forward to having a great time on the day of the Torch Festival. We would compete in the village and by the rice fields to see whose fireball or torch was more impressive. When the torches and fireballs were almost burned out, we would rush home, walk around the potted fruit trees in circles, and say blessing words, hoping they would grow even better in the coming year.
