When Daji was still unknown to locals, our architect Cynde stumbled upon it and strongly recommended it after staying there. The attached Xitang Restaurant is also an excellent dining choice, with rice paddies in front, distant village temples and Cangshan Mountain composing a very beautiful scene.
Now Daji is often a place where friends in Dali arrange to have meals. Within a short period, two friends asked me to go eat there, showing its genuine popularity, passing the scrutiny of locals who are often more discerning than tourists.
The refined countryside environment, meticulous cuisine, and friendly service are probably the key factors.
Yesterday when I went to eat, there were several yellow ruddy shelducks that had flown from Siberia in the large pond in front, reflecting against the distant Cangshan Mountain, creating a very beautiful scene.
