Details
I recommend this guesthouse because I have stayed here myself. After I left my previous accommodation and started a nomadic lifestyle, I stayed here for nearly a month. The price is affordable: a room with a living room and a private small courtyard costs about 150-180 per day during low season, and a single room costs 100-150 per day. For current prices and other room types, check on Ctrip: Xi Yuan Villa
Although the Southern Area is a standard residential community and this guesthouse doesn't have a distinctive character, the room is comfortable, clean, and quiet at night. The one-bedroom apartment has a double bed in the bedroom and usually a small bed in the living room, so it can accommodate one extra person. It has a simple kitchen for light cooking and a comfortable desk if you need to work.
The owner Xiao Wei provides good service and is straightforward, responding promptly to your needs. Check-in is very simple—no front desk, just rooms scattered around managed by her. I have stayed at another place where the service wasn't great, probably because they spend too much time livestreaming to sell properties, so I recommend this one—it's more reliable.
(When I asked her for more info on her properties to recommend, she probably thought I was bluffing and didn't give me any, so I had to find out myself.) She has many houses to suit different needs. Contact her on WeChat: 19188132609.
The info provided is based on the one-bedroom apartment where I stayed.
