The team communication went smoothly. We stayed in Xizhou, and they picked us up right from Xizhou, which was very convenient. Today was a VIP tour, one guide for the two of us. Our guide, Paris, was quite interesting. He treated us to ice cream and bought fruit—a lot of it. The two of us couldn't finish it all. We were really happy today. We went paddleboarding in the rain, with misty clouds around the mountains. Thanks to Paris for leading and encouraging us, and also for taking us to a delicious dinner! The child got bitten by ants, and Paris explained things very clearly, which eased the child's anxiety. Dali's West Lake is very beautiful, nestled in the mountains. We enjoyed over two hours of tranquility there. I love the scent of the wilderness, and with a light drizzle, it was perfect for letting the mind wander and doing some idle daydreaming.

The kid kept saying: Can we come again tomorrow? The day after? Next year? The adults kept asking: Are there any more activities led by Bali and Xiao Li? We want to join again! Our family is into sports, so we were really excited about the paddleboarding reservation. We arrived at Pushi 40 minutes early to wait. Before long, a tall guy with sporty sunglasses, dressed like a surfer, with shoulder-length hair got out of a car. I thought to myself, that must be Xiao Li. Sure enough, Xiao Li came with a huge thermos full of ice cubes, ready to make some refreshing drinks later. Not long after, Bali arrived, looking super cool—his rebellious vibe made me feel like following him was the right call. The activity was insane! The kids kept asking: Can we jump into the water now? How about here? Can we swim? Can we swim a long way? Can I play on the coach's board? The three kids kept jumping into the water, getting back on the board, jumping again, and swimming. Even the seven-year-old could handle the paddleboard skillfully, gliding across the lake with ease. Even if you can't swim, it's fine—paddleboards are way easier to balance on than surfboards. Over two hours on the lake: There was the chaotic fun of splashing, jumping, and swimming; There were quiet, relaxing moments lying on the board, resting, surrounded by beautiful mountains and lake. Some photos even caught rainbows 🌈 If there had been drinks and a bonfire after getting ashore, it would have been perfect. Highly recommended!! Bali, Xiao Li, and DD were so easygoing! Friendly and communicative. Whatever we wanted to do, as long as it was safe, they were happy to let us try! Btw, we insisted on Bali taking us to dinner—it was delicious and affordable!

The best day of my trip to Dali! On the way, the two guides Xiao Li and DD took us to try delicious rushan (milk fan) and rushan ice cream, and thoughtfully prepared tea snacks and fruit. Also joining us was DD's cute little dog Yuanbao, who is super well-behaved and not afraid of water. The paddleboard instruction from the two guides was very detailed and patient. They avoided tourist areas throughout, and took tons of photos for us. The experience was fantastic! Will definitely come back next time!

It was my first time bringing the whole family to try stand-up paddleboarding, and I was a bit nervous. None of the three of us had any experience, and before we set off, the little one was both excited and anxious. Our guide, Chen Paris, greeted us with a "welcome gift" for the kid: a water candle, like a plump hot dog, which can be lit to repel mosquitoes. It was harvested right from our destination, Dali West Lake. Paris drove us from downtown Dali, and after about an hour we arrived at the lakeside. He efficiently set up camp, laid out fruit on the table, and the sun was just right—warm but not scorching. Looking up, the distant mountains were like ink washes, clouds drifted, and their reflections on the lake made West Lake look like a flowing ink painting. Paris had already inflated the paddleboards. He first explained safety tips and paddling techniques in detail, then helped us each get on the board. With his encouragement, we managed to stand up on the board. And at that moment, the camera captured the most beautiful scene. Over three hours of paddling, the mountains and lake scenery slowly passed by, water birds flew by, reeds swayed gently, and time seemed to stretch and then quietly speed up. When we finally packed up and came ashore, the little one was still not satisfied, exclaiming, "I haven't had enough, I want to come again next time." At our request, Paris took us to a nearby authentic halal restaurant. The cooking methods were simple but brought out the natural flavors of the food perfectly—no exaggeration, it was the most satisfying meal of our Dali trip. The paddleboarding experience far exceeded our expectations. Floating on West Lake, I felt a bit like "traveling in a painting," where everything slowed down and quieted, leaving only the ripples, the wind, and the stirring in my heart.

Thanks to team leaders Chen Bali and Xiao Li for taking us to such a beautiful place. The location was hard to find, almost deep in the Bai ethnic hinterland. On the way, we saw exotic local grandmothers. The drive took about an hour or so, and the road was a bit bumpy. It would have been nice if the car had air conditioning. Our group of six adults and three kids arrived and felt it was incredibly beautiful—indescribable charm. The leaders were very attentive. They set up a canopy, served afternoon tea, and explained paddleboard safety precautions. Some friends who were initially worried eventually completed the entire session, feeling very relaxed. The kids had a great time, eagerly jumping into the water. This experience was unparalleled. As we were about to head back, we encountered strong winds, and the leaders' professional handling made me feel at ease. It also inspired a sense of awe for nature. We saw rainbows twice during the trip, which was extremely lucky. This unique experience is irreplicable. Maybe it's a once-in-a-lifetime thing. Of course, if I have another chance, I will come again and recommend it to friends. 07.15.2026 @JJMOMENT

This stand-up paddleboarding activity was the best part of our trip to Dali. Our family of four, both adults and children, had a great time. Coach Bali made everyone enjoy the experience. The scenery and the route were unique. They also prepared camping gear and fruit snacks for us to recharge, along with a small tent for changing clothes—very thoughtful. All in all, paddleboarding is relatively easy to pick up and a great outdoor activity close to nature. It's definitely worth trying, especially in Dali with such a beautiful natural environment and a supportive team! Be sure to choose our Coach Bali! The weather was also perfect, and dinner was delicious (that was self-paid, of course). The photos turned out great too!

First time trying stand-up paddleboarding! Even though it rained, we had a lot of fun. Chen Bali was like a warm and friendly big brother, teaching us paddle techniques and giving us an in-depth experience of local customs. He took two kids to enjoy the fun of paddleboarding and see the plants and animals! The photos were great too. Half a day left us with endless memories. Will definitely come again next time.

I took my daughter to join a stand-up paddleboarding activity for the first time. It was a relaxing, fun, and unique experience. We tasted fresh rushan and rich milk ice cream; had a picnic on the lakeshore without any tourists; the clouds in Dali have been putting on a show every day recently, and paddling on the lake felt like rowing into a landscape painting. Sometimes we waded through reeds, sometimes we drifted on the calm water, and later we encountered strong winds, experiencing a small adventure of paddling hard and finally reaching the shore safely. For dinner, we went to a "fly restaurant" that our guide Xiao Li has been visiting since childhood, which has been open for over 20 years—it was delicious! Guide Xiao Li was professional and responsible, warm and friendly. His paddleboarding instruction was clear and humorous; the supplies he prepared were thoughtful and meticulous, including a canopy tent, tables and chairs, abundant tea and snacks, and a separate tent for changing clothes. Throughout the water activity, he kept an eye on everyone's condition and safety, and even took many great photos. It felt like being well taken care of throughout the whole process. Special thanks to him for letting my daughter play on his paddleboard from time to time, allowing me to practice and enjoy freely (who knows how much I appreciate having someone help with childcare). My 8-year-old daughter even learned to paddleboard easily and said she wants to come again next time.

Paddling a SUP board through the reeds felt magical. Just finished, and I'm passionately writing a little essay. I hesitated for a long time because I can't swim, but finally booked this activity just before leaving Dali. It was so much fun, a great experience—I even felt I hadn't had enough. Paddling through the reeds felt magical; from afar, there seemed to be no path, but as I got closer, oh! There was a path. Our guide, Xiao Li, was also amazing. First, the preparations were thorough: he brought tea and snacks, set up a canopy, moon chairs, a small tent for changing clothes, and of course, the SUP boards. Second, the guide was professional and meticulous. On shore, he carefully explained the direction of the board, how to use the paddle, what to do if you fall into the water, etc. When we got on the boards, he gave detailed guidance one by one and kept encouraging us. The other participants were also very friendly, and we naturally became familiar with each other. There was wind today. When it got strong, we had to hide among the reeds for shelter. It felt just like the Wind Trial in Sky: Children of the Light—or maybe the Wind Trial is like SUP boarding, haha. At the same time, another guy was on a wooden boat nearby ensuring safety, so there was no need to worry about safety at all. On the way back, the wind suddenly picked up, so everyone held onto the boat and returned. Overall, it was a fantastic experience. I tried something new, met kind people. Goodbye, Dali.

Very happy to learn a new skill~ Floating on the lake, when the wind stops, the lake is very calm, and my heart is at peace. The scenery along the way was quite nice. A beautiful girl in our group said it felt like the ancients boating on the lake. It really did feel that way—just one person and one boat between heaven and earth. At first I was a bit scared, but the guide taught me step by step how to paddle, from sitting to standing up. If you get blown away by the wind, the guide will come and rescue you, so don't worry~ This is a project well worth trying.

I had a great time on this paddleboarding experience. The guide was very easygoing, a great conversationalist, took good care of everyone throughout, and gave detailed instructions. Even beginners could stand up and paddle quickly. Along the way, we stopped at Dengchuan Town and had super fresh milk and yogurt (the ones from the March Street market have a milky smell), and also tasted authentic raw milk fan, which was very local and delicious (better than what's sold in the old town). Before getting in the water, the guide prepared fruit and cake to tide us over, and after we got ashore, it was just enough to replenish our energy. Very thoughtful. I'm afraid of water and can't swim, but even though I fell in at the end, I managed to overcome my fear. That's probably the charm of outdoor sports. Afterwards, we went to eat together, and it was the best restaurant meal I've had in Dali in the past few days. Overall, the experience was great, relaxing and healing. Next time I come to Dali, I want to try other activities.

If I could, I'd give it six stars. This was the most fun activity I did in Dali! Weaving through Dali's West Lake, even when it started raining just after we got on the water, it didn't dampen our spirits. Feeling the strength of the paddle in our hands in the rain. The guide led us through the reeds, we saw wild ducks and egrets, and even had a watermelon on the water. The guide was witty and humorous, the teaching was easy and efficient, and they took great care of everyone's feelings throughout. Safety measures were in place. I'll definitely come again!!

Finally got to try stand-up paddleboarding! We paddled on West Lake for over 2 hours. The weather in Yunnan in October is unpredictable. When we set out, it was sunny with a light breeze, and we easily glided through the reeds, watching birds take flight. On the way back, a strong wind picked up. Paris and Haifeng tied everyone's boards together, and we paddled hard. When we reached the shore, I felt everyone did a great job—so satisfying!

Paddleboarding record 🚣🏻‍♂️ We insisted on joining the activity despite the continuous heavy rain. Because others canceled, it ended up with two guides leading just the five of us, giving us an unexpectedly amazing experience. When we arrived, it was drizzling. It stopped raining when we got on the water, and later the weather cleared up. I felt it was like nature's reward for our persistence. Thanks to guide Chen Paris, a humorous Hunanese. Everyone, young and old, was nervous at first, but soon relaxed. My child went from not wanting to share a paddleboard with him to both kids wanting to squeeze onto his board—only a mom understands the value of that. Except for my mom, who was in a kayak and didn't stand up, everyone else gritted their teeth and took on the challenge. Even I, who can't swim, clenched my teeth and wobbled to a stand, just because someone said it would make a good photo—they hit my weak spot. While standing, I adjusted my breathing and frantically recalled what not to do if I fell in. Thanks to my core, I stabilized and didn't fall. The kids went from not daring to move to Xia Zhi jumping on the paddleboard and paddling hard with the paddle. An Zhi put both feet in the lake and splashed, wanting to sit sideways with both feet on the same side—it made my heart race. Although no one fell in or tried to fall in, splashing each other was also fun. On the way back, they even caught a fish. Watching them fish was interesting too! The scenery along the way was beautiful. I took photos until my phone died. Thanks to Paris for recording; I hope to capture every moment. The scenery on the way back was the best I've seen in Dali. While enjoying it, I told a friend coming next week, "Paddleboarding is great! Come quickly!"

Before coming, a friend recommended this to me. Last time I came to Dali was ten years ago, and this time I brought my child. Although Dali is a bit more crowded, it's still the comfortable and fun Dali. The activities arranged by Cangshan Family were all perfect. We had coffee at the meeting point, then went to West Lake, which was so quiet with no one else but us. The calm lake surface and drifting clouds, colorful paddleboards and children's laughter, made you forget all worries. There was delicious fruit afternoon tea, thoughtful changing tents, and guide Bali who was serious and humorous in his explanations. From initial nervousness to countless jumps into the lake after the first fall, I unlocked a new life skill. Lying on the paddleboard looking at the sky and clouds, I realized life can be so free. Thank you to the guides. I want to play again next time.

I took my parents on a self-drive trip. With the various experiences organized by this Cangshan hiking community, trip planning became much easier. All the routes are carefully designed, and the activity quality is very reliable. We booked the paddleboarding activity. From gathering in the afternoon to returning in the evening, the half-day schedule was very fulfilling. There were about a dozen travelers participating that day, but there were four guides—a ratio I've never encountered before. As soon as we arrived at the camp, the guides quickly set up the canopy, inflated the paddleboards, and prepared everything, while we comfortably enjoyed fruits, snacks, and Eryuan specialty milk fan ice cream, listening to basic safety instructions. Before entering the water, the guide specifically emphasized that since today's experience had a schedule and route, parents needed to manage their children well so that one child's special needs wouldn't delay or affect everyone else's experience. As an adult, I was really touched by that statement (but the kids that day were all lovely and cooperative—indeed, it was a gathering of high-quality people). On the water, we paddled through the reed marshes. The surface of West Lake was very calm, and the water quality was good. It was very free to paddle, perfect for beginners to practice and learn. The weather was sunny but not scorching, very comfortable. The water was quite warm, and later the kids all jumped in and played. Guide Paris took lots of photos for every participant throughout, constantly encouraged the beginners, and kept the atmosphere lively. Both kids and seniors (like my dad, a sixty-year-old haha) had a great time. Highly recommended!

Every time Xiao Jing goes into the mountains to pick mushrooms, she is full of enthusiasm. She gets excited when she sees unique plants and can accurately identify various types of mushrooms. My child and I both enjoy it. 2. West Lake paddleboarding: This was my second time paddleboarding. Guide Chen Paris was patient and good at taking photos. The paddleboard under his feet was like a flaming wheel. 3. Phoebe's nature observation This year was my first time joining Phoebe's nature observation. Before arriving in Dali, I could already tell from the pictures and text introductions of various insects and plants shared in the group that Phoebe is a very attentive and meticulous person. Three words: absolutely amazing. I'm so glad I found Cangshan Hiking Home. When everyone thinks Dali is just a bustling ancient city, our guide Chen Bali took us away from the noisy old town. We tasted delicious traditional rushan cheese, walked through endless vibrant fields, arrived at a simple and peaceful village, and paddled across the vast and exclusive West Lake. Gliding on a paddleboard through the reeds and between white-walled, grey-tiled villages, with the blue sky and Cangshan Mountain as the backdrop, and the sunset and white clouds as embellishments—this natural scenery really suited me. There was a very young kid participating too, and they could fully enjoy it. Even if you don't know how to paddle, you'll pick it up quickly! Highly recommended! Jason also brought a dog named Zamao, who was very friendly. I'll definitely join their activities again!

I spent Chinese New Year in Dali with my kids. I really didn't want to see crowds, just wanted them to get grounded and strengthen their digestion, haha! I had my eye on the famous "Cangshan Hiking Home" in Dali from their public account early on. For such a customized small-group hiking activity, the price is very fair, and free cancellation is available—very generous. I heard it's a side business of the owner of the popular "Midnight Diner" in the old town. Over six days, we did four routes and were lucky to catch the last stand-up paddleboarding session (it's too windy in winter, so SUP is suspended). My four-and-a-half-year-old softie started off a bit intimidated but gradually got a feel for the mountain trails, figuring out how to exert force on steep uphills and downhills and how to steady her steps. With the patient company of guide He Chen, she gained a lot of insight in just a few days and even became his fan. Guide Jason was humorous and enthusiastic, with a wide range of knowledge. The journey was pleasant and relaxed, as comfortable as being with old friends. Each route—Cangshan Light Hike, Huoshan Sunset Viewing, and Eryuan Hot Springs—had its own unique features. You could feel the thoughtfulness in the route design, the changing scenery along the way, and the different sensory experiences. The kids observed plants, collected flowers and grasses, experienced various mountain paths, stepped on fallen leaves and pine needles, listened to the pine waves, and watched the clouds. Seeing them tread on the earth every day, going into the mountains, lakes, and water, chasing cats and dogs, crawling around, basking in the sun, and feeling the mountain breeze—this is what childhood should be like. Happy New Year! Wishing you a joyful spring and all the best. I hope to come to Dali often and join these hiking routes regularly. The scenery must change a lot with different seasons.

2023.02.07 A spontaneous, unplanned trip to Dali. Before the trip, I chose to trust the vibe based on Jason's writing on the Cangshan Hiking Home page. Yesterday, I did the Huoshan Sunset Light Hike with Frank, and today Xiao Chun, He Chen, and Tailor took us paddleboarding. It's hard for me to describe these two days from a consumer's perspective because you all gave me the closeness of familiar friends. I think this will definitely be one of the memories that makes me smile when I think of Dali in the future. The picnic mat Frank laid out at the mountaintop with delicious snacks, the purple sunset clouds on the opposite horizon, the freedom I felt paddleboarding today, the flocks of birds flying past, and Xiao Chun even brought hand-brewed coffee and snacks. It seems there's nothing you haven't thought of. I'm already looking forward to coming to Dali again.

2023.04.20 When I first tried paddleboarding, I was very excited. It not only made me feel free but also gave me a great sense of achievement. I found floating on the water to be a very relaxing and enjoyable feeling, and the paddleboard allowed me to experience it more deeply. Besides, the scenery here is beautiful, and the service is very professional and attentive. There was also a cute little Border Collie. I would recommend it to other friends coming to Dali...

2024.02.04 Originally I only planned to play in Kunming for a few days, but I stumbled upon a public account by a mom living in Dali that recommended Cangshan Hiking Home. I was deeply attracted—all the activities were exactly what I wanted. I immediately booked and changed my itinerary. Sure enough, even with just one guest, the trip went ahead. Guide Xiao Li was sincere, patient, and professional. He taught us how to use binoculars, kayak, and paddleboard. He was also a naturalist, teaching us to identify many birds. It was an incredible experience for me and my son! They provided waterproof phone pouches, which gave us peace of mind. Every detail was great. I will definitely come back in summer to experience it again!

2024.02.28 Great, great! The route lets you fully experience the outdoor beauty of Yunnan and Dali. The guide is very professional, offering the convenience of a tour group without the pitfalls. I feel that the existence of such an organization is truly a social progress. Respect~

2024.07.21 Coach Xiao Li was incredibly patient. For someone like me who is afraid of water, he first showed tolerance, then encouragement, and finally I was able to paddleboard independently, enjoying the feeling of floating in a fairyland. I am truly grateful for giving me such a wonderful experience. At the end, we saw a group of lambs bleating, and a baby lamb walking to its mother and kneeling to suckle.

2024.07.22 Brother Xiao Li was amazing!!! On the way back at night, he even gave us his own dinner bread to eat. Since we didn't bring a change of clothes and he was worried we might be cold, he drove us directly to the hotel, speeding all the way! Ten out of ten!

Once I finally learned to stand on the paddleboard, a whole new world opened up. From just paddling, I suddenly became one with the board, riding the wind and waves. It's a sport you can get addicted to after just one try. If guide Paris is the flying hero on water, then Xiao Li is the earthbound master who controls the whole situation. There's also Hai Peng, who took my son cliff jumping countless times, He Chen, who taught me tips for standing up, and Zhen Hao, who helped take care of my son. In short, every single person was lovely. Paddleboarding itself is full of adrenaline, and with these outstanding young people, I feel this should be listed as a must-do activity when visiting Dali.

How can summer be without playing in the water? A super nice day! The guides Xiao Li and Paris were polite, patient, and fun, perfectly ensuring the whole experience. My kid said this was the most fun activity in Dali! Jumping into the water many times was really cool. From wobbling to standing up independently for the first time, it gave a great sense of achievement. Drifting slowly, feeling the tranquility and gentleness of Eryuan among the reeds and egrets. It's a healing experience.

Great activity with beautiful scenery, enjoying the peace and freedom of nature. The guides were enthusiastic and lively, able to play with the kids and encourage everyone to try new things. Both adults and children had a blast. A test of physical strength and courage. In summary: very fun, go for it!

Went paddleboarding Great paddleboarding, I've already screamed recommendations to friends all over the world online, will come again next time! (◎ The great guide Paris, knowing in advance that I'm socially anxious, avoided everything that would make me nervous, and drove very smoothly, taking great care of motion sickness and social anxiety, so today I neither got carsick nor anxious, deeply moved. Unexpectedly encountered one-on-one VIP treatment, the whole lake seemed like only me, but knowing the guide was watching from behind so no worries, only heard bird calls and wind sounds, paradise (a bit sunny version) When I came, I thought oh no I haven't finished my work, lying in the middle of the lake I just felt hehe I'm a duck, yay I originally thought paddleboarding was just sitting on the board and playing in the water But today I paddled into the lake, passed by reeds, saw the most wild ducks in my life, many egrets perched in trees, a cool eagle flashing by, large patches of water hyacinth flowers, and big fish leaping out of the water loving freedom, level up, from water park to geography exploration, ate rushan and semi-finished rushan, chew chew chew, playing paddleboarding on Erhai Lake, paddle, lie down, paddle, lie down, feeling love for fun, tell everyone around to come play! Yes, we introverts talk a lot in online comments but dare not praise the guide face to face Praise from afar to guide Paris who is especially good at taking photos, driving, and understanding introverts (guide teacher, if you see this, pretend you didn't, or I'll be embarrassed) Thank you thank you thank you

When I came to Dali last August, I saw the Cangshan Mushroom Picking itinerary from Cangshan Hiking Home, but I was in a hurry to go to Deqin, so I didn't join. This year when I returned to Dali, I found they had added many various outdoor activities! I really wanted a different experience, so I chose stand-up paddleboarding. The guide Tailor was very nice and professional, Guobao was adorable, and the friends who joined the activity became good buddies. It was so much fun! On the way out, smooth sailing, peace and love. On the way back, five of us paddled hard against the wind, turning a leisure activity into an extreme challenge! If you love sports, nature, and the outdoors, don't miss it! Next time I come to Dali, I'll turn into a special forces tourist and do one outdoor activity every day to experience all the itineraries!

I have to give this place a huge thumbs up. The activities were well-organized and executed. On the first morning, we went mushroom picking on Cangshan Mountain. Two young ladies led the group, providing attentive and thoughtful service, helping everyone find mushrooms, carrying our tea break in their baskets. Lunch at the farmhouse was fresh and served with warm hospitality. In the afternoon, we joined the stream trekking activity, which my child had been looking forward to, and it did not disappoint. Several experienced young men took care of our group, young and old, from all directions. Climbing and stream trekking were super thrilling and fun. The afternoon tea prepared by our guide Xiao Li was amazing—watermelon soaked in mountain spring water, coffee, and tea were incredibly sweet and refreshing. What a fantastic day! On the second afternoon, we went paddleboarding, also led by Xiao Li. Unfortunately, it rained, but setting up a tarp in the wild, listening to the rain, enjoying the lake view, drinking tea and coffee, and eating fruit and snacks had a unique charm. In the end, Xiao Li braved the rain to take us paddleboarding for a bit of fun. Since we couldn't complete the full paddleboarding experience due to the rain, the boss refunded the fee for that day. We were deeply touched. Next time I go to Dali, I will definitely seek out Cangshan Hiking Home again.

Worth it Must give a good review. A truly genuine outdoor team with a beginner's heart, full of experience and safety. Worth joining again. Stand-up paddleboarding is a rare water activity in summer, with excellent resources. Will come again!
