Hello, I am Deer.
Originally, a friend asked me to take promotional photos for her newly opened inn. While I was editing photos in the lobby, an inn guest saw me and asked if I could take a set of photos for her and how much I charged. I quoted a price, and we happily completed my first gig. At that time in the city, I had just quit my previous job and was transitioning to become a flexible freelance photographer, still in a formative stage. This gig showed me my future direction in life: I could maintain my time freedom here and still live and work. I have been here for twelve years now.
During this time, I have climbed mountains, waded in streams, rock climbed, hiked, and camped on Cangshan summit. Because I love the outdoors, I joined the Cangshan Public Rescue Team, training and playing in the mountains.
Now my second child is four months old. After getting married and having children, most of my energy has turned to family, and my photography is mainly about documenting family life. Additionally, my husband loves sailing, so we occasionally travel to places with seas for short sailing trips. I love capturing moments in life; every time I look back at the photos, I get to enjoy the journey again. This is also the meaning behind my photography service on the Cangshan Hiking platform. I also love participating in the activities above and enjoy joining in. So far, I have joined Phoebe's Nature Observation activity. That was three months ago, right after I had just finished my postpartum confinement. This activity requires a bit of hiking and climbing. When the dad carried the baby on his back, I could take some documentary shots. Cangshan is still so beautiful, and everyone is drawn by nature, looking at plants, identifying insects, regardless of age. While you are focused on playing, I am also focused on feeling. Phoebe's activity is gentle yet allows deep contact with nature. Simple hiking with rich content. When we spread out a mat and sat down for a tea break, looking at the fields, houses, Dali Road, and Erhai Lake in the distance, I felt the same freedom I had in the mountains a decade ago.
The day before yesterday, I went with Ajin's family to paint stones in a stream. Yang Qiao, who is 36 weeks pregnant, still climbed the mountain gracefully. We walked to a flat streamside. A father from Hangzhou who joined the activity also became a child, leading two boys to dig a river by the stream, build a bridge with branches, and use picked leaves as boats. They released them at the same spot downstream and had a dragon boat race with the current.
We followed Ajin up the stream to see a waterfall. Another mother who joined also followed, but stopped at a small hill that required climbing. She was worried she couldn't make it, afraid of falling, worried about many imagined scenarios.
I climbed ahead, showing her where to step and where to hold. She just needed to focus, step by step. She concentrated and easily passed. And Ajin, who had gone ahead, was nearby to protect her. When she stood in front of the waterfall for a photo, I felt she was glowing—the light from overcoming her fear and denying her own potential.
These activities are like that: besides letting you feel nature, they also help you open up. While you focus, I capture it for you.
"Deer is the wife of Captain Tie. She often goes with their children and friends to streams, sailboats, villages, camping, and international travels, documenting a lot. Before this, she was a professional photographer for many years, but after having children, she only shoots life documentaries.
That day, we went to the valley of Black Dragon Stream, one of their usual favorites. Later, Deer shared the photos (see attached), and I thought these records were fantastic. This is also the kind of travel photography many of us actually want: playing in nature, with the photographer being a friend you meet for the first time, capturing and recording your moments. No posed shots, just a record of your time.
And so this photography service was born."
Note: Color correction is included, but no retouching.
The price includes 2 people. For additional people, the price follows the activity rate, to be selected in subsequent options. Shooting locations: stream / lake sailing boat (choose one).
