Suitable for: Because the number of guests we can take each time is limited, we hope to be on the same wavelength. Easygoing, not anxious, love nature, and wild mushroom enthusiasts. Age: 18-50.
Fee Includes: Round-trip transportation, lunch.

About the Route: Secret mountain forests around Dali. Not fixed on one route, because I want to go to different places each week to pick. However, each route will be one I have carefully screened and also like.
About Mushrooms: Generally, compared to Cangshan, the mushroom variety on deep mountain routes is very rich, and few people go to pick there. But mushroom growth is uncertain every day, and the types we pick each time in the deep mountains are also very different. So I hope you come with an open mind.
Besides Mushrooms: In each secret area, we will also see some special plants that are not usually seen in ordinary mountain forests.
Activity Process:
Around 9:30, gather at Pushi Coffee, then take my van to the destination. It takes about 2 hours by car. Upon arrival, hike into the forest. The hiking time is generally no more than 20 minutes before we start picking mushrooms.
The distance we walk while picking mushrooms generally depends on personal stamina. When tired, just sit down in the forest for a rest and picnic, while others can continue searching.
After picking mushrooms, I will sort them, then bring the edible ones back to the camp for cooking, or have a farmhouse meal in the mountain village (depending on which route we took that day).
Returning to Dali ancient city area around 19:00, but the time is not fixed.
Why create a deep mountain mushroom picking experience?
Xiaojing:
This is my fourth year picking mushrooms on Cangshan. From initial unfamiliarity to curiosity, then to liking, and now to complete familiarity and understanding. This gradient feeling is a bit like falling in love. I can't date a person for four years, but picking mushrooms in the same place for four years also loses its freshness.
I want to recapture the initial wonder of mushroom picking. So, this summer, I am breaking up with Cangshan and going to deep mountains beyond Cangshan to pick mushrooms all summer.
Previously, because summer vacation was very busy and we were short-staffed, the picking group could only organize one or two deep mountain mushroom picking activities after summer vacation ended. We cherished this activity, like a mushroom ritual. Everyone went with an unknown heart to a fresh forest, finding unfamiliar and novel mushrooms.
Deep mountain mushroom picking is like an unknown journey; every time brings big or small gains and surprises. This feeling probably comes from the "unknown."
We often pursue "familiarity" and "stability," but these two things are often what make us gradually lose sensation.
